Big Pine Retreat is a hidden gem in the heart of hocking hills. Tucked into the deep woods, we are nestled between state forest and two hollows. We have 6 cabins and a lodge, all private and secluded and with hiking trails right outside your front door. From all of our cabins, you can hike directly to 21 Horse Cave, Chapel Falls, Airplane Rock and Conkle's Hollow. We are also connected to the Buckeye Trail. Must be 21 years or older to rent. AWD/4WD Recommended. Free WiFi -may experience disruptions and outages

Ridge point cabin is a great choice!
The cabin was spacious, private, and the bed was very comfortable. Huge TV and youtube subscription was a bonus and easy to use. The two A/C strip units were also very efficient and completely silent. Hot tub was hot and very clean. Good location, too.Susan - Posted: 7/17/2026

Ridge Point exceeded our expectations.

Relaxing and immediately felt less stress
We stayed 4 nights at this beautiful, secluded cabin. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. It is modern yet rustic with a wonderful outdoor area with a hot tub. Cute hideaway at the top of a hill

Very lovely stay. Perfectly sized cabin for 2 sat atop a big hill.
We very much enjoyed our stay here. It is a nice and perfectly sized cabin for two. Very comfortable couch and bed, large fridge, and great view. The drive up the hill was scary at first since it is so steep, but our car had no problem once we had all of our luggage out. Hot tub is a bit small, but if you are small-midsize, you will be comfortable. We did fit but displaced a lot of water, so it wasn't as full. Overall great trip! Clean cabin close to trails
Very communicative hosts on what to do in the area and trails. Cabin and hot tub were clean and as pictured. Basic kitchen supplies were provided. Basic linens and towels. We were also provided 2 beach towels. Suggestions for the future: replace pots/pans as non stick coating is past life; add a few more bed pillows as ones provided were not supportive; an extra blanket for chilly evenings on the couch; more towels for longer stays. This is a lovely cabin and we enjoyed our stay
This cabin and property seemed very clean. Everything was very tidy and the cabin decor was charming and rustic. The area is private and very quiet. We would agree with the owners that an SUV would be the minimum required to access the cabin. We brought our all wheel drive Rav 4 to the cabin but felt our front wheel drive Escape would have struggled on the driveway. However I will say we did see cars at other cabins near us. A Very Nice Cabin in the Woods
We've rented many places through VRBO and this is one of the best. It's a bit of a rugged drive in and out to the cabin but worth it. Once we figured out the heat and the coffee maker (we're a bit technology challenged) everything was great. Very quiet and everything we needed was there. We generally eat most of our meals in the cabin when we rent and this one provided all we needed. Absolutely amazing!!
This was our fourth time staying at Big Pine Retreat. We have always stayed at the Mingo cabin (and of course love that cabin too). Ridge Point was a whole different experience. The cabin was beautiful both inside and out. The high-end finishes made it seem like a 5-star hotel. We enjoyed every single minute of our trip.
